I've been using a XiMeta NDAS Ethernet 250GB drive for years. Been an excellent performer and it's waaaay faster than my newer WD MyBook USB drive.

Is gigabit ethernet?

I said feck it and went an got the 1tb version of that.

Plus the added advantage of the obligatory I'm not going to let you rip me off the extra £20 in cos Im coming to pick it up in PCworld.

the 1tb version is currently 8 quid cheaper than the 750Gb version.. or it would be if they had either of them in stock
