Yeh I'd love to see the full details of court cases sometimes, it just seems that on occasion the evidence is really shakey. You wonder how judges go about making a decison like that.![]()
While that might be true in some cases, it probably isnt in this.
A defence that presents no witnesses and no evidence*, doesnt have the defendant take the stand, a defence which asked the jury to believe that the defendant cleaned up the scene "in order to protect his wife's memory" (while blaming the wife during the trial), saw the defendant flee the country on a one-way ticket, and which has to deal with abundant prosecution forensic and character evidence which all points to the defendants guilt would almost certainly fail over here as well... though our justice system would have made the mistake of letting him out again.
* yes, a defence doesnt have to do this, but it might be an idea when you are trying to suggest an alternate theory of events that you want a jury to believe.
