National No Music Day Tomorrow

This week is officially Anti Bullying week, tomorrow is officially World Television day. Tomorrow is also World Hello day, and it's also the start of National Tree week . So tomorrows gonna be pretty hectic.

Seems like we missed the National Pro Bono week, that was last week. And no it's not to do with an Irish irritant but some legal thing.

He might have a point.

My MP3 player broke a week back and I've just got around to buying a new one, instead of walking home with my head buried in music ignoring everything and everyone I noticed a lot more about my surroundings - Buildings , people and stuff like that.

Still glad I bought the new MP3 player though.

Correct. In fact it's typical Drummond psuedo intellectual bollocks. I'm having a Very Loads of Music Day tomorrow.

The way that I see it, he's saying that the same thing day in day out is not a good thing.

Sounds good to me.

Change is as good as a rest and all that.

Dubversion has turned into a beatnik ponce :(

Well, fine, if that's your thing. But why all do it together?

I don't listen to the same thing day in day out anyway.

Maybe I'm missing the point of this. It's been a long day.

I'll be listening to the latest music that I downloaded to my MP3 player on the 'day' that this 'protest' happens but the day after or maybe even the day after that I'll take off my headphones and walk around my local environment picking up on things that I may have missed had I have the latest boom rave playing out on my MP3 player.

It's easy to walk around without your earphones in. I do it all the time. I walk the dog every day without the aid of music, for example. But a whole day? Why?

We had exactly the same thread last year . The genius of it is even if you do listen to music and think it's a shit idea it's getting you to re-examine your relationship with the music and what it means to you .
The people who are thinking "fuck that I'm going to listen to my music loud" are in fact still benefiting from the idea of No Music day which I suspect is what Bill intended with this !

Are you ready to testistify for Bill! Halleluja!

actually I disagree with the idea but your here discussing it and part of re-assesing your relations with music is thinking and talking about it .
I don't necessarily think it's going to achieve much because I'd have thought most sensible people with a passion for music will already understand their relationship with it . Just because I'm willing to think about Bill Drummonds motivation for doing this doesn't mean I agree with it . In fact I currently have High Priest of Love playing which is a nice way for me to wake up :D

A very very slight concession: I've been listening to Radio Scotland, and the lack of jingles is a plus. They should keep that up.

doesnt sound like a bad idea TBH. My days are spent involved in music from the moment I get in work and then in the studio after work that sometimes i just cant bear to hear another track, which feels odd bearing in mind my love for music and im just happy to hear nothing.
