From 2020-21, the National League North and South will increase to 24 clubs so next season eight Step 3 teams – four champions and four play-off winners – will go up and only two will be relegated from each Step 2 division.
Next season the bottom two clubs in each Step 3 division will be relegated along with two more third-bottom clubs based on PPG.
I'm still unclear as to who gets Aldershot's place in National South in the event of them benefiting from Gateshead folding. Do Truro get a reprieve or does the spare place go to one of the divisional play-off winners who lost the play-off with a winner from another league? (i.e. Not Police or Warrington, and if it's Warrington they would obviously go into National North with Oxford City probably returning to our division. )Great to see that Truro v Harrow, the famous “ends in an ‘o’ sound” derby (also known as El ClasicO), will be played next season.
Nothing will be confirmed until the National League AGM a fortnight tomorrow and the club has the right to appeal to the FA, although I don't fancy their chances right now:Gateshead relegated at least two divisions so get ready for a bit of giggling!
They have announced we keep Oxford City.Gateshead FC demoted to National League North after league AGM
Gateshead demoted to National League North, so Aldershot stay in the national League. Wonder what that will mean for our 22nd team... Guessing one of Oxford or Gloucester won't switch?
