Well it's that time again for those of us who follow, support and endure our football passions in the 5th tier of the English Football pyramid to comment and moan about our respective allegiances as the season gets underway.

After losing out in last season's play off final, Tranmere were at Torquay Utd for the start of this season's campaign and managed to hold out for a 0 - 0 draw with only 9 men left on the pitch at full time. That means that we will be without McNulty and Norwood for the next 3 games, not sure what changes Micky will make for Tuesday's home game.

Maidstone United mid table general contentedness. Relegation would be disappointing, promotion a financial disaster.

Long trip to your ground at the end of last season and then we turned out all our reserves to save the first team. That worked well for us when it came to the Play Off final.

Allegedly, Billericay Town are going to have a wage bill of more than £1.6 million this season.

Better result for us last night, cracking goals from Cook and Norburn. Should have had half a dozen more - Alabi's miss!

Yes the score should have been at least 6 - 0. The defence still can't defend free kicks but the new signings played well and Cook and Norburn were good up front.

Much excitement as Maidenhead United are on BT Sport! Not sure how many people have travelled from Hartlepool, hellava fucking journey if they have!

Well Sutton turned us over today. They were able to disrupt our pattern and play and the players weren't able to deal with it. Roll on Tuesday and Guiseley away.

  12. Sutton did that ^ to Orient on opening day too, and we never got going. Their narrow pitch (rather than the 3G) didn't help us either.

But 2 home wins on the bounce for the first time in ages (actually, about 20 months) with the completely new team starting to gel & pass it around has got us up & running. Rode our luck a bit v Maidstone yesterday, but it's just rather nice to concentrate on moaning about on-field tactics and players again rather than screaming constant obscenities at the Becchetti & his useless goons up on the Directors Balcony.

  13. Excellent! Nothing says welcome to non-league & don't be giving us your la-di-da airs & graces like the deserved 6-1 pumping Orient supinely succumbed to on Bromley's new 3G pitch last night (nothing wrong with the surface, & everything to do with being bullied by a side that competed harder & forced loads of mistakes).

First ever win in the league today, came back from 3-1 down to nick it. Historic moment and of course I'm abroad. Stuck it here cos wasn't going to do a thread and we might well be back next year anyway.

crisis headlines already mounting in Hartlepool.

can't be long before the ponytailed David Brent-a-like they brouhgt in as manager is shown the door. Winning the League of Wales with a full time team doesn't a manager make.

On telly again. Tho I think I'm probably glad I'll have to miss it, considering our recent form.

Well that was a pile of shite. Poor refereeing and a home team that couldn't adapt to Dover's frustrating style of play which ended with a dubious penalty being scored late in the game.

Another dire performance but this time lady luck was with us and Norwood scored deep in injury time to give us a home win. With other results during the afternoon we perilously came close to being in 20th position but with the win we are now in the heady heights of 14th position with 12 points from 9 games.

Well that was a shite game versus Wrexham. We can't seem to score even when we have numerous chances in front of goal or when attacking.

  22. Orient have slumped to a return of 2 points from the last possible 21, which is ridiculously bad even by our usual low standards. A break for the FA Cup is timely, though a dreary draw away to Daggers probably wont bring much relief.

Oh well, at least we fans have #ourclub back (we don’t, of course - although the new owners seem decent & sensible enough and the chairman’s a lifelong fan).

Everything I heard about Davis from Crewe supporters suggests he's lost it these past few years. Surely you won't wait as long as they did to get rid.

  24. Yeah, it raised a few eyebrows when Steve Davis was appointed Orient’s gaffer after an abysmal last few years at Crewe, and the warnings received from Alex fans about ineffective, spineless, pedestrian tippy-tappy football that hard-working, organised sides found too easy to contain before causing panic in defence with fast breaks is repeating itself. As is his appalling games to wins ratio. Doesn’t help that we can’t defend set-pieces either.

After the disasterous churn in players/gaffers/staff of the Becchetti years I doubt the new board will want to pull the trigger on Davis quickly whilst they try & restore some stability at the Club (on & off the pitch) this season, but if we drop into the bottom 4 I expect he’ll go - and I really can’t see him being the coach to get us back into the Football League from what I’ve seen & heard so far.
