I laughed once - maybe twice.

I don't like not liking movies and really thought i was going to enjoy it.

Just don't understand the appeal i guess...

Hmmmm... I like a lot of that, especially Chris Morris and The Big Lebowski (and most other Coen Brothers films). I suppose Napoleon Dynamite is not that similar to any of the above apart from the anti-hero quality of the main protagonists/'stars'.

One of my mates looks a bit like ND (slightly less nerdy but not a million miles away). He didn't care much for the comparrison but liked the film.

Zoolander is a 6/10 at best. ND is a big fat 9 for me.

in what way is the humour in Napoleon Dynamite 'obvious'? surely it's anything but, which is both its brilliance and also the reason a lot of people didn't get it.
