Nando's

Have you been drinking?

Lidl’s best instant coffee only. I do think Nandos chicken is tender. I’ve eaten there often enough to know. Once in a while you might get a bad one which is over grilled and dried out, but mostly it’s good.

Thanks for trying to help. I read both and can’t diss them without trying it, but both seem to amount to “marinade the chicken then cook it in the oven”. I’m not sure either answers the question of how Nandos cook their chicken.

I heard on the radio this morning that Nando's are starting to feed their chickens on worms and insects rather than soya animal food which seems like a good thing all round.

Given how large a flock they must have, I wonder how they’ll do that. It must be better for the chicken, but aren’t they mainly vegetarian? I don’t know much about chickens.

I wonder how it will effect the flavour of the chicken. I’d like to think it will improve it.

I thought chickens scratched around in the dirt and ate bugs and stuff all the time. They don't naturally eat soya - I know that.

Same here. It's all right. I think I've been twice. Also in no rush to go back.
Yeah, I mean it's a running joke in my house that whenever Mrs SI has no particular plan for tea she'll ask me what I fancy and I always say chicken, cos I could eat it four or five times a week and it's not her fave thing necessarily. But when she DOES do chicken for tea I can't imagine anything on a Nando's menu comparing. When I go out to eat I want something I don't usually have at home.

Ditto, my wife makes some bad ass chicken dishes, nothing compares.

But I do love a cheeky Nando's, I'd actually love one today.

There's a Portuguese grill restaurant up the hill near where I live. I might give them a try again actually. Their chicken is amazing.
Portugues grilled chicken here doesn't really taste the same as Nandos tbh. Theres quite a few specialist piri piri places but you can pick up a plate of grilled chicken in most places straight off the grill or barbecue. Also the chickens here are normally smaller and the most sweet succulent and expensive ones are minute .

Chicken is leathery and dry. Peri Peri sauce is a shit and vinegary hot sauce. Everything has too much paprika on. It’s just very poor quality food. It’s not even a proper restaurant and should just do deliveries
