Nando's

All you NHS staff out there: we get a 10% discount on production of ID (about the only time I am happy to produce it!)
And yes, of course it is expensive when you can buy a whole chicken for much less but I think in terms of going out for a meal it is very reasonable - especially the bottomless drinks; drinks tend to be the dearest item on the restaurant bill. Yum yum; got some leftovers in the fridge from Sunday. I keep forgetting about their loyalty card though.
I am very good at ignoring staff who would like to rush you on but personally I have never really felt rushed at Nando's. And certainly nothing in the Wong Kei league. To the non-Londoners, that's a Chinese on Wardour Street that is internationally reknown for the rudeness of it's staff.

I am the most addicted person to Nandos in the world ever.

:(

I've travelled from Edinburgh to Newcastle 4 times (in 2 years) for the sole purpose of going to Nandos.

I have emailed them countless times asked when they are opening up in Scotland and was DELIGHTED to hear they were supposed to open one on the street next to where I work.

They cancelled it. :(

They are supposed to be opening up one in Glasgow anyway, but until then it's Newcastle. I'm planning a trip in January.

WTF?
You need to get out more, and not to nandos.

Its interesting.. I went there tonight. And the food was good.. but its the wine that makes it special.. I figure they've tapped into the inherent greatness of Portugeuse Wine.. oh yes.. oakey=

I like nando's - partly for novelty value - we don't get them in this neck of the woods ..

... the wine is rubbish tho'

They do wine at nandos?
Sounds like a cheap date might be in order.

"What does chef recomend tonight?"
"the peri peri chicen is good"
"OK I'll have that and a bottle of your finest wine. No, wait, on second thoughts I'll go for the endless cola"
"very good sir, here is your paper cup, that will be six quid, sit wherever the fuck you like"

I thought the food was all very well, but the place (Clapham Junction branch) was absolutely filthy, and I won't be going back again.

I went to the Sutton branch but cannot tell you what the food was like as before we sat down I went to the toilet and it looked like something from the film Trainspotting. We left straight away. Even places like McDonalds in the West End have passable toilets.

it's not a paper cup, it's a proper glass! :D

For a tenner, the wine was pretty good last night. Food wasn't up to the usual Nando's standards though.. still fucking great mind

I think axon might actually fight you for that title.

Nandos are ace. They do a very good veggie burger in pita and proper hot sauce.

Yes, I am officially the person most addicted to Nandos.
It is so gorgeous, the sauce does something primeval to me. I just can't stop dipping those chips in the sauce, especially the garlic sauce. Oh how I wept last a couple of years ago when they didn't have any garlic sauce in the Soho branch. The chicken's alright too.

Nandos is excellent as far as the chicken goes but not so keen on the rest. REally an ideal place to get a takeaway from.

Haven't had one in ages - maybe we should have an urban outing?

they're ok but a bit overrated in my opinion. the last time i went their idea of spicy wedges or whatever they call them just seemed to be sprinkling excessive amounts of paprika on top
