I watched a young family emerge from the woods yesterday - mum had a massive bunch of real bluebells.

Why didn't you say something?? I probably would have pointed out they had broken the law. If they don't know and you don't tell them how will they learn??

Actually I just checked, and in England, anyway, although it's illegal to uproot the whole plant, it's up to the land owner whether it's illegal to take the flowers.
