The last four on this list are very strong contenders:D

and I missed one off there because someone already mentioned it and what found it would be to pronounce when pissed

Huish Episcopi

Possibly strange local ones(but I'm used to them)
Froickheim
Panbride
Pitmuies
Dykehead
Murroes
Meigle

Like I say I'm used to them so dunno if they are strange or not.

Wish we had sound so I could hear some of you trying to pronounce these names ;)

It's a different Dykehead, but 'Shotts & Dykehead Pipe Band' is usually referred to as 'shits and dickheeds'.

Somerset pisses all over every other county. FACT.

Cheddon Fitzpaine
Norton Fitzwarren
Kingsbury Episcopi
Shepton Mallet
Midsomer Norton
Gurney Slade
Farrington Gurney
Nempnett Thrubwell
Temple Cloud
Chew Magna

etc etc etc

I nominate Leicestershire, i used to go out with this women from Market Harborough yearz ago, Market Harborough being a fairly normal name for a town, then I discoved Scraptoft, Sibbertoft and a fleet of places with by at the end such as Blaby, tugby, rugby, oadby, oh and how could I forget Horninghold.

Name that County:D

I grew up near Market Harborough, in a village with the rather boring name of Clipston - about three miles from where ChrisFilter lived, in fact.

I'd nominate Dorset, with its various towns with 'Piddle' and 'Puddle' somewhere in the names.

Reminds me - I stayed one night in Wyre Piddle in Worcestershire :)

All other Worcestershire place names are shite though.

Quite nice round apart from the flatness:)

Not a placename but I've just come across a Tryphosa Trebilcock in my family tree

Would agree with Somerset and Devon. Know sod all about the place but after looking at Ancestry, I've come across some funny names.

If you want to go international, I'll nominate Pitcairn Island though
Nearly moved to a house in Somerset that was in Scumbrum Lane, High Littleton:cool:

You're part Cornish then, that's a Cornish surname that is :)

In Switzerland we've got a Cunter, a Töss & a Wankdorf :D
:D

Actually that reminds me... When on a school tour of Germany years ago we passed thru a place in Bavaria called Wank!

Nah, not blood line.

Lots of blood line relatives from Somerset and Devon though, that I've so far managed to trace back to around 1800s. The Trebilcock is the 1st Cornish one I've stumbled upon :D

I liked it round that area when I visited apart from the lack of Hills:)

I've never thought of Leicestershire as particularly flat, but perhaps that's 'cos we moved from there to East Yorkshire, where the highest hill for 20 miles was the railway embankment in Hull!
