what was that ashanti one (was it even ashanti? ) not too long ago one that had a killer bad bass line?

the one that goes "ooooooooooh!!! i just wanna get next to you! oohhhhhhh!! i just can't leave you alone!!"?

dunno what it's called. ashanti has a very wobbly head and a stupid look on her face.

The Cookbook is more rnb than hip hop imho and poorer for it.

ooo ooh and *edited" to add Sunshine Anderson (not sure I got the name right) - Heard it All Before. I LOVE that tune

Cheers, won't bother with that Missy one then. That Sunshine Anderson one sounds like it's been nicked off the Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill.

RnB just seems too samey to my ears, the odd track is okay like.

there's a cristina milian one i love (and not just for the video, wife!! ) but i got the album and it was mostly shit. surprisingly

you've just dug yourself a brand new hole husband, I don't think I was aware that you like christina millian.

not that I care, like :)

i used to like christopher williams

and jodeci

and some bloke called eric  (cant remember his surname)

Deffo don't bother. Missy has been off the boil for a bit now, and the Cookbook is just appalling, mostly I reckon because Timbaland only produces something like 2 tracks on the album, cos Missy wanted to produce them herself, and let her mates have a go.

It's beyond me why you'd want to ditch Timbaland as your producer though.

Blackstreet - 'No Diggity'
Roots Manuva - 'Witness'
Missy Elliot - 'Get Ur Freak On'
Missy Elliot/Fatman Scoop/Ciara - 'Lose Control'
Kelis - 'Milkshake'
Usher/Ludacris - 'Yeah'
Snoop Dogg/Justin Timberlake - 'Signs'
Lil Jon - 'Get Low'
Most stuff by Mary J Blige
Most stuff by Outkast

See, I'd think a lot of that isn't Rnb. I like stuff up there on your nice list.

Christopher Willams, now that man had a great voice, 'All I see' was a great song (produced by Devante - who you would obviously know was involved with Jodeci). I'm not sure about the general direction of the thread, the original idea appeared to be concerned with identifying 'r'n'b' that was outside of the obvious commercial stuff that tends to enter the charts. But how do you then distinguish between this and soul, because the fact is there are some fantastic black artists and black music being made, you just have to make the effort and look and listen.

Just out of interest - is it Eric Benet you are thinking of?

BB :)
