Name a TV Programme/Series That You've Never Seen But Really Should

I have to say, I'm a bit of a telly addict. But I really wanted to see that David Attenborough fellow with the reptiles. Other half wasn't into it, mind.

I Claudius. The Forsythe Saga. Quality stuff, I hear.

Endless series of Top Gear, simply because I thought it was a show about cars and posh wankers. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was actually a show about cars and FUNNY posh wankers. Never miss an episode now.

I watched one episode of Life On Mars and thought it was a bit forced and overscripted. Am I missing out?

I thought it was great - interesting, funny, innovative with excellent performances - but I remember the first episode being a bit laboured in trying to set things up. Maybe you should try and borrow the DVD and watch a couple more episodes. See how you feel then:)

Yeh, maybe it was the way it had to be in the first episode.

I've been working my way through The Sweeney in lieu.

I can't imagine life without "Star Trek" in all it's forms (except perhaps "Enterprise") - I aspire to be Beverley Crusher!

I loved Star Trek but always got annoyed by the moralising. It wasn't exactly subtle. Still, it was an optimistic show, overall. Then I watched the pilot for Battlestar Galactica - well, holy wow! Like a love rat, I jumped ship. Like a midlife crisis I found out what I'd been missing all those years. If you haven't seen it, check it out but make sure you get the pilot before season one, otherwise you won't have a clue....

Being a serial er, serialiser, though, I have been glancing in the direction of The Bionic Woman recently...

I've never seen Family Guy, although I'm told I should. I never watched Star Trek: the next generation, nor do I have the inclination. 24 doesn't interest me. Never saw West Wing, never will.

Bloody hell Odds, caaaarrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmm down (it's two words anyway ;) )

Be easier for me to list the things I have seen recently:

* That Attenborough series about lizards and things

* Some doc about an Irish band

* A few 'sodes of Ice Road Truckers

* The News

Only thing that springs to mind I wanted to get into was new series of Prison Break but havn't seen all the last series yet

We have just got season two of "Battlestar Galactica" on DVD. Great show!

Classy stuff. Initially I found Gaius to be an irritating Dr Julian Bashir rip-off but as it progressed I realised him to be one of the most entertaining characters....

Note: Don't watch the spin off movie, "Razors" until after season 3. It's fantastic but it might spoil the impact of season 3...

at least she died. Neelix however:mad:

The Jar Jar of the Trek universe

Did she die? I thought she went and became some kind of celestial deity, like Q or something.... agree with you on Neelix, mind. Still, at least Voyager had 7 of 9.... if I had at least 1 of 9 I'd be a happy man.... :)

Gaius and his endless talking to imaginary blonde cylon. Admiral Adama is less complex but more, well, admirable.

SO SAY WE ALL

That is exactly what I thought at first!! Not helped by the fact that I had a MASSIVE crush on Julian Bashir and thought it was terrible that someone was ripping off his character!

Wesley Crusher is by far and away the most irritating character in TNG

Agreed, and if Wil's writing is anything to go by, he'd agree with you. He's written a series of fairly humourous reviews of TNG and disses his own character quite a fair bit.

Just before Sexual Harassment Panda shows up, Wesley Crusher says, "Dude, this is bullshit. Either hook me up with some fine Edo ass, or let me get away from you creepy middle-aged swingers and find it on my own."

Okay, maybe that's not what he says, but it's certainly what a certain actor who played Wesley Crusher was thinking at the time. What he actually says is, "Uh, erm, uh, I'm a weenie and I can't be too close to this crazy hot woman who wants to go all Mrs. Robinson on me. Can you please take me to some kids my own age, so I can get as far away from the boobies as possible? It would be great if there was some sort of science project I could work on, and some technobabble I could deliver, too. I really need to be in my comfort zone, or at least change into some loose-fitting pants."

Only character in TNG that I found in any way bearable for more than 5 minutes was Picard.

And now that I've confessed to a) playing 40K b) watching Star Trek and c) reading stuff about TNG written by one of the people who starred in it, I'm off to kill myself. With a phaser made of shame.

RSC ennit. The man can act. I sepent years telling everyone how Picard would make a perfect Dr. X.

Course when the films came out nobody remembered my prescience:mad:
