My Street

moomoo

Not so yummy mummy
I caught this for the first time tonight, it's a series about a London street and the people who live in it. I found it fascinating. And it was also terribly sad. :(

Anyone else watching it? The inhabitants vary from a new family who have just spent £800k on their house to a Polish woman paying £80 per week for one room. The lady who did impressions was fairly entertaining. :)

I really liked it, but probably not the right day to watch it. Dead baby in emmerdale and now this, that's too much crying at the telly for one evening I reckon!

Was very good though. But poor Adam. All alone too. :(

Just finished watching this. I thought it was fantastic.

The ending really hit me for six though.

I'm on a bit of a downer about my life at the mo and It helped me realise that I do have a great life and should be thankful.

Had no interest in this initially but got drawn in as the missus watched and in the end thought it was a fantastic bittersweet documentary, seeing Adam struggling with his tourettes was heart breaking even before the news of his passing.

I thought the majority of it was shit...esp the richer people doing up their house (although I think they relaised that so skipped over them!) but the mixture of people was certainly interesting.

The polish guy was superb...91 :eek:the 'millionaire' who spent all day cleaning toilets and looking after his dad. The schizophrenic jailed for drug smuggling in Japan.

And of course Adam...that last filming of him saying he couldn't sleep. the terrible tics, the hospitalisation and then the voicevover that he was found dead 3 weeks later...i was starting to well up :(:o

The kiwi crew would annoy me senseless.. what a bunch of drunken fools.. No wonder everyone was hiding away..

Adam was a diamond... Whats going on in this city to allow him to die...
Heart breaking..
He was in there somewhere..
Man, I could have watched a show about him alone. What a struggle his life must have been..

RIP

I'm fairly mad about this programme as I pitched an identical idea to channel 4 a few years back only to be told nobody would be interested in other peoples streets/flats.
The ad on the TV mirrored my opening pitch.

I'm pretty sure it's only coincidence but I think I will just check to see that nobody I know commissioned it/worked on it.

My daughter and I were stunned into silence watching that - it was heartbreaking indeed. :(

Why on earth wasn't he being looked after? :(

I wanted to watch this. Was it a one off docu ?

According to the TV guide, it was no. 5 of 15 so plenty more time to catch it. Well worth watching imo.

They must of thought your neighbours were too boring. :p

I thought it was a one off, I can't see a whole series working. I enjoyed it but it was rather depressing.

You are right, I was being dim. It was actually the whole 'Cutting Edge' series that it was a part of that is running for 15 weeks. Sorry. :o

Was Adams death suicide or from his condition i couldn't work that out.

Well they didn't really say...I thought it was implied suicide TBH...the whole speech about "not wanting to ever wake up"...and then it cutting to the voiceover. Or perhaps they felt it more respectful to just say he died after all the end result was the same :(
