my lovely cat :)

I had a stray which I had to keep locked in a room (because he had really bad mange) and he was very skittish. I used to go in there and sit quietly on the floor every evening with a book or something and just wait for him to come to me.

she finaly used the litter box last night and we had a mini break through in that she wanted to be scritched behind the ear and then in her hind quarters which made her all rolly and she purred like she was a motor boat fill of pnumatic drills we have left the bathroom door open today but in stead of the previous attempts to bolt for the front door she's now just sitting in her bed with that closed eyed contented look on her face ... Funny this time yesterday i would have said that it was going to take at least a month to get to this point.

She's stil shy though and is funny will go infro s scritching uder her cheek then roll her head round so the fingers are at the top of the head then jumps or flinches that there's a hand there but then starts rubbing on the hand again...

I think time and patience is the only way to persuade a cat to be your friend, don't try and fuss her if she doesnt want it but go for it big time if she comes to you all purry :)

oh and food, they like food!

When I volunteered for the CPL the lady who ran it took in quite a few proper strays who lived semi rural in a big fenced off (cat escape proofed) area. They were all very feral but some would come over and want a fuss when you went in to feed them. There was one poor kitty who had long fur and was really badly matted but no-one could get anywhere near it because the poor thing was just too frightened :( I think some of the tamer ones were actually rehomed which is cool.
