My laptop is infested with viruses

I wonder if superantispyware also looks for viruses? spyware and viruses and different things

- viruses i reckon are much more likely to cause aggro and breach your computer security

- spyware is often just stuff like tracking cookies which you pick up from various websites which note down info about your internet usage and stuff

If you use internet explorer as a browser this tend to allow a lot more spyware to be picked up compared to say firefox (whcih i use)

I use internet explorer.

It's still running and it's showing under the heading

"Threat Description":

Ardware.Tracking Cookie
Ardware.Zango Toolbar/Hb

and then the number of threats by each one

I don't know how these things work. It won't go deleting all my word files or photos or anything will it?

It should only look for suspicious files - it sounds like it doing what its supposed to so far

It's just finished thank God. Thought it was going to take all night.

It's now "quarantining and removing harmful files"

I would re-install the OS. It might well be compromised beyond the detection of the virus check. Its very possible.

I wouldn't know what you're talking about but I'm guessing OS is operating system?

I'm too scared to stick anything else on my machine. will wait 'til I speak to my friend but thanks anyway
