It's quite depressing when you write it all out!
I know

However, I think it's really useful too. It can seem like an insurmountable mountain of stuff, but once you've written it down you can compartmentalise it and attack it in an orderly fashion.
I plan on making a list of things, in vague order of priority, to tackle this summer. We really haven't got the money to do it all, well, barely any of it really, but there are certain things we can do to make a substantial start and pave the way for other things once we have the money.
Top priorities:
• Sell/get rid of the piano
• Make loft hatch bigger and put wood down to support all our crap
• Get new front door
• Get rid of exercise bike
After that we can start de-cluttering properly and uncovering walls and floors we didn't even know existed

Until we've done that there's really not much point in starting anything else.
One big weirdness we've got is the flooring in the living room. It used to be 2 rooms, it's knocked together now. One half is floorboards, the other half is old quarry tile - the whole lot at the mo is covered in mangy carpet. The quarry tile side is slightly higher than the floorboard side. Ideally I'd like nice wooden flooring down (easier to keep clean what with the cat and his fur and puke), but I imagine it would be a bit tricky what with the split level and the tiles. Someone suggested putting down ply or something on the floorboard side to raise it to the same level as the tiled side, then laminate (it'll be good quality laminate - not the shit stuff) on top. Not sure of the logistics of something like that though. It'll doubtless be expensive. Something for a couple of years down the line I think.
I love old houses, but god if the people before you haven't kept on top of things they are a pain in the backside to maintain!
I won't even start on the kitchen
