my garden has been burglarised!

Whenever we have 'unwanted visitors' on the fishery, I find it highly amusing to fire crow-scaring rockets up into the air.

They're dead cheap from ag merchants and have none of the frills of your conventional firework rockets, just a whoooosh *BANG*.

It don't half make folk run. ;)

Time to get some infrared CCTV in I reckon. It's cheap as fuck and you'll have the joy of nailing the fucker in the act.

Or just put in a proximity light so the twat gets a halogen blast on his nocturnal tree swiping excursions.

I am thinking about CCTV although I think I know who it is (the guy was actually in my garden last time with his huge dog. Didn't realise what he was up to at the time but because of huge horse-dog wouldn't really want to tackle him anyway)

My house is back to front and when you're inside it's almost impossible to see what is going on out there - and they take advantage.

Interestingly next door have spent a small fortune on their garden plants and ornaments and seem unaffected.

They guy seems to know next door by his first name so there's a chance I might find out who he is.

I've had a load of planst needing to go in boxes out there for a few days - am surprised they haven't been nicked yet, but I expect the bad weather has kept him at bay.

Do they still make plant locks? liddl did them a couple of years ago.

It wouldn't take much to slow a thief down - a spool of heavy gauge fishing line is dead cheap - you might find some in a cheap shop - though doubtless a cat or two would get itself tangled up if you left too much lying around.

Bastard. It takes a special kind of cuntishness to steal a living thing that someone's obviously been looking after (especially since you'll probably kill it by stealing it).

We have window boxes, but even when the windows were openable we'd only use the ones that can't be reached from the road - the others got nicked the day I put the plants out, even though they're about fifteen feet off the ground.

this just gets weirder..

..last night at about 11.30 we heard a whining noise outside the door--- someone's tied up a dog outside our front door.

A dog!

And it has vandalised all my container pots, going mad trying to get out (and next doors garden light!)

It was pretty big (an alsation cross). Who the fuck chains up dogs outside someone's front door??

I was only lucky it was friendly (I don't like dogs). We unchained it and hopefully it got home, but am starting to wonder if we did the right thing or not.

:eek::confused:
