my dog has been attacked again

A pit bull has a bite strength of 2000psi - I wouldn't put your arm anyway near it's mouth unless you're forcing your arm down its throat (another alternative 'get killer dog off you' technique).

I didn't measure the force of a New Foundlander's bite, but he is not exactly a little dog (weights about 65-70 kg). What I did worked to halt his attacks on the little one.
I'm not an expert on dog behaviour but I would think that a normal dog shall not switch to attacking a human when he is attacking an other dog. His mind - and rage - is fixed on the dog, reason why his victim should be removed from the scene immediately.

salaam.

Sorry to hear about this. :(

However...

yeah and the thing is she admitted that her dog has done this before, I think her exact words were
'I'm so sorry I've had him 7 years and he's always doing this...'

I'd report that to the police. Her dog's dangerous, simple as that. Next time it might not be another dog it goes for.

you can get soemthing called a redirection bite if you try to interfere. it all dpends on whyt the fight kicked off. If its a fear thing then if the dog percieves you as a greater threat than the other dog then it may well decide to take you out first. fear aggression is probably the most difficult to deal with as the dog becomes quite irrational and can often just bite out at anything thats near

If I saw someone do that to their dog I'd phone the RSPCA and I urge you too as well.

In fact I'd phone them now anyway and tell them this is going on so they have a record then the next time you see it phone them.

I think someone's dogs are living on their balcony on my estate :(

I haven't seen it. It was reported by the Friends of Brockwell Park in their newsletter. I think that the relevant authorities are very well aware of what is going on. The new park rangers are very good.

Glad to hear jake has gotten over his experience. We often see collectives of young girls round our way posturing with large pit cross type dogs. Point being that if the dog decides to go for something, there's no way these kids would have the physical power to control them. It's nuts. If only it was the owners who got savaged...

Last time we were in Brixton to do some Saturday shopping, I was waiting for Hipipol to join me at the Portuguese deli. Suddenly this pit cross came lunging past my legs. Luckily the cat from a couple of shops down moved fast and the dog's owner got him under control fairly quickly so no damage done. The guy stalks off, dog still unleashed, sucking his teeth with outrage that there's a cat loose on the pavement...

Bring back the stocks...!!!!
