The mutoids are exhibiting. A rare chance to see their stuff, outside of the festival scene.

They were the massive hit at this year's Glastonbury. A little glimpse again, parhaps, during the off-season.

(disclosure: ex will be exhibiting. No other involvement)

E2a: it's going to be Hoxton. Will be more specific (duh!) shortly.

So.

We know when.

Can you be a little more precise than the nearest 500km on the where?

Is it in Scunthorpe?

Dan U sent me this this mornng about it

THE OPERATION...
From the earliest flying machines to the present day, the sides of planes have been adorned with imagery, be it the insignia of the crew or a good luck charm to protect them from harm. From deeply personal messages to the down right lewd, many of these where hand painted by the flight-crews themselves.

Joe Rush and Wreckage International (of the 63rd Mutoid Waste Squadron) have presented a select crew of front line artists with titanium sections of aircraft fuselage. How will today's new model army represent their vision of these tail talismans?

The results will form the centrepiece of a five-week exhibition. Based in the heart of Hoxton, the massive five floor gallery barracks will house sculpture, installation, street talent and performance art every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 21st November.

TRASHING THE PLACE
Mutoid Waste are also known for co creating 'Trash City' - an apocalyptic dream-world straight from the pages of a 2000AD comic and the talk of this year's Glastonbury Festival. Also on display at Mutate Britain will be vehicles and sculptures from the scrap-pile art city.

MUTATE BRITAIN GOES INTO ACTION 21st NOVEMBER 2008
And weekly thereafter - every Friday, Saturday & Sunday 1:30pm – 10pm

:)

There's a scrapyard in the middle of some woods near me. Guarding the entrance is a horse with a chariot.

(clickable thumbs).

Probably my mate's yard, not sure as I've never been down there. I forgot that he lives near Chippenham but his yard's nearer Bristol. I know he's got a few Mutoid sculptures down there. He's a lovely bloke, I used to squat with him in London in the 80's before he ran off to be a jitter :D

Like Mutoids, like beer?

Paulie, and others, we're almost certainly on for evening of Friday 28th November, with a very good chance of a late pint or 2 at the Wenlock (easy walking distance) afters .... :)

just got back from it- it is fucking amazing! if you don't go to see it (despite having the opportunity) you are a muppet and should go cry in the corner.

robotic pole dancers ftw! :D

you're so very right. i was supposed to go tonight and i got all lazy. on the case though and good to know that its worth getting along

I thought it was a bit "meh"...the robotic dancers were aces but a lot of the 'art' was utter toss in the upper rooms.

I went today...it is amazing. Lots of fantastic artwork, mutoid technology, installations and sculpture all fabulously presented in a great space.

Can you tell i liked it? :hmm: :D

things are becoming much more complicated, as they often do. we're off to france on 29th, and might have to see a man about a dog on the 28th so we'll see what happens eh? i want to get down for this so am maybe hedging my bets a little? will do me best :)

Friday 28th

Oh well, shame .... but make sure you enjoy the Critical Mass ting anyway.

I used to get on the Critical Mass larks lots back in 'the day' ;) ... but I never do now, cos it seems they're always on Fridays 'these days'

 :hmm: at teetotal CM organisers ....

Anyways, we can post independent reviews of the Mutoid extravaganza, on here .... :p

If tomorrow by any chance yer up for a late'un at the Wenlock (QUALITY beer choices!!), we'll be there after 10 ...
