Musical Places

I'm going to make it easy.

I shall bold the musical reference and italicize the place.

Raveonettes - Beat City
Southern Culture On The Skids - Soul City
Aretha Franklin - Soulville
Kiss - Detroit Rock City

see?

The Fall....Jungle rock

(Or would it have to be Rock Jungle, or could it be a Rock where you'd go to listen to Jungle?)

Off the top of my head:

Albert Hammond: It Never Rains (In Southern California)
Joni Mitchell: Woodstock
Dionne Warwick: Do You Know The Way To San Jose
Barbra Streisand: Niagara
Linda Eder: Vienna
Frank Sinatra: Chicago & New York, New York
Linda Ronstadt: Livin' In The USA

nope, none of those count

Compare any of those with "Soul City" or "Funky Town" and tell me what you think..

Clash City Rockers?

I think I've got the hang of it but I'm just waiting for a string of withering noooes from Mr Dub....

New idea for a thread:
"What's Dub thinking of?" - and then we all just have to say stuff randomly while he goes "no, you're a cretin" "no, you're an idiot" "no, you don't understand" "   "etc.

I think I get it, but it's thin ground to work with...

Guitar Town - Steve Earle
Funky Town - Lipps Inc

that's borderline but it'll do

It's SO simple

SOUL city

It's a place named after or described in terms of music.

Similarly, FUNKY town

So California, City of Tiny Lights, Nutbush City Limits, Streets of London aren't even remotely the same thing
