Amazed nobody's mentioned the obvious with Johnny Cash's "Hurt.

Other personal ones;
The Delgados - "Make Your Move"
Mogwai - "2 Rights Make 1 Wrong"
Brian Eno - "By This River"

Orange Appled by Cocteau Twins......But fuck knows why as i haven't a clue what Elizabeth Fraser is on about with her glossolalia.

Depending on how drunk I am, Pink Floyd Wish you were here. I'm particularly susceptible to the lines:
'Running over the same old ground,
what have we found?
The same old fears,
wish you were here'

A wonderful piece of music. :D

The high point of my gig going life was Floyd at Wembley in 1990, I saw them again at the Docklands arena, that was superb too, but the Wembley gig was absolutely amazing.

I was on call that weekend, and I could only get cover until 7pm. I spent the rest of the evening slowly straightening out and praying that I wasn't going get called out. ( Pharmacy. :eek::D )

Chelsea Hotel by the mighty Leanord has been known to cause mild eye grittage while under the influence of wine and drug induced serotonin depletion

Another classic. Did I mention that I'm going to see him in July, if we both live that long? The tickets arrived today. :D

So long Marianne by Leonard Cohen.

I still think of her occasionally, although it is thirty-odd years since I last saw her. She was my first real love.
