music for when you have to concentrate - help!

... but absolutely no warbly nose flute 'relaxation' shit either.
I'd go for some late Scott Walker or Sunn O)) or them both together on Soused...

Personally I find white noise the only thing to listen to if I really want to concentrate... mainly 'cause it blanks out everything else.

My usual think is to put classic radio on in another room, just loud enough that it does the "background noise to wipe out other sounds" thing, but not close enough that it distracts me into actually listening.

Earlier in the main 2020 lockdown , I opened a window and used natural birdsong & leaves rustling as there wasn't any road noise to break into my concentration.

Unfortunately, the dog & my household do come and distract me ... I'm usually too polite to say something like ...
"I'm trying to work, push off and leave me alone, there's a good person"

some people recommend the lo-fi genre as background type music.

this seems to be one of the sources of it on youtube.

may or may not appeal. cat on window sill may not be compulsory.

This is my go to when painting the kitchen, creating pivot tables or washing the cat.

For something more electronica based I can heavily recommend Tycho's sunrise sets from Burning Man. Buys a couple of hours. Waypoint is my favourite but seems to have disappeared from YT.

Also baroquedub.co.uk mixtapes, various styles with a predominantly dubby edge.

Collins303 has a few good mixes too.

There’s always this:

After two hours it gets tolerable, but then in you’re in a trance which enables you to get anything done

Did anything help bimble ?
i did get some of it done but tbh none of the links that i tried from here so far really did it for me. I stuck some philip glass on for a bit.
'music for airports' is just awful (sorry) and the music for programming, i think some of that is more for the white noise fans
will try some more of the suggestions today.

Generally you will find on these music threads that you should just ignore all of the suggestions except mine, that is definitely what I do and it always works out

(not the memphis 66.6 one necessarily, but SPACE TRIP II is 100% my favourite for work)
