Thaksin seems to buying more and more share of the club without anyone checking where the money's come from.

:D Oh dear. For a person that lived throughout his dirty reign at the helm of thailand, this just sounds oh so familiar.

I know where his money's come from. It's as easy as pie. The thai tax payer. The man is a thief, never mind the blood he's stolen off people.

I guarantee that if a couple of the british dailies got onto the case of investigating this man, he will very quickly have to get out of manchester city fc.

I don't mind pointing any journos in the right direction... there's fucking tonnes of dirty stuff on this man.

Or maybe no-one really cares any more apart from just a few.

GL, good luck mate!

You can't be convicted if you set the laws people follow. One of them was shoot drug dealers on sight.

A quick bit of info on how things work here in thailand.

Normally roundabout election time, millions of the poorer people have their villages inundated with politicians who have thousands of bank notes to give away in exchange for a vote for them. Their votes are bought. National politics means very little to them, if nothing, and when somebody comes to their village and gives them 500 baht, that's a very nice monthly bonus thanks very much.

I've been a bit flippant there, but it gets the point across.

Thaksin went one better. He didn't bother buying the votes, he bought the politicians, and off they all went flooding thakisn's thai rak thai party (rak meaning love).

He almost single-handedly subverted democracy as they have it in thailand, despite a pretty reasonable and modern constitution. He quickly became known as a worse dictator than any of the real dictators from the past.

This may take some believing, but his comeuppance was really due to the king. But i'd better be very careful on that score... no more to be said there.

Here is a link to information on one of the massacres that took place under the man.

"Do we accept this lame excuse for the deaths of 87 people, who were tied together, dumped in trucks, face down, on top of each other, and traveled for hours some 120 kilometers to Pattani military camp? Dr. Pornthip Rojanasunand from the Central Institute of Forensic Science said that 80% died of suffocation, others from convulsion. “It wasn’t inhumane treatment,” the Prime Minister said. “It is clear that we did nothing wrong… I don’t think anyone has to take responsibility.” "

Furthermore you can go to this link

www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk_ZEuE-70M&mode=user&search

which unfortunately i cannot access because youtube is banned in thailand. When i typed in thaksin +massacre it was the second link, and apparantly shows a nine minute video of what happened.

I can add that thaksin created the culture for all the deaths under his prime ministership. An example is that upon declaring 'war' on drug dealers, he invoked the words from a previous thai top policemen who said there was nothing under the sun the thai police could not do. Thaksin specifically quoted this man, and within a day the massacre of people began all around the country, for a year or two from memory. His quotes, both on this and the two massacres, show him to feel that such actions are entirely appropriate.

He is a fucking disgusting disgraceful piece of work, and it takes me all sorts of shit to get my girlfriend a visa to visit britain on a holiday, and this shameless wanker is allowed exile in britain, and is allowed to buy one of our major football clubs.

I cannot believe that this man is now trampling all over britain. He's trashed thailand, leaving in his wake after his ouster a divided nation, that before lived relatively very peacefully.

Fela, isn't youtube down in Thailand at the moment?

Permanently mate. It got banned because a video was posted on it that criticised the king, which is treason over here.

Of course, hardly anyone knew anything about it until they banned it...!

Can't blame the murderer in exile in london for this one though.

Whenever i think about this, it takes my breath away that this man OWNS a premiership club. It's just about too much for me to believe.

Might look vaguely good on paper...

But I still reckon he's a crock of shite. Just like the new owner.

Fuckin Citeh. Always breakin my heart... :(

"Mr Thaksin will have to pass the Premier League's standard "fit and proper person" test before being able to complete the proposed takeover."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6277502.stm

Well, all i can say to this is that if thaksin is passed as a fit and proper person, then this whole process will be a complete sham.

How can a remorseless killer, a corrupt monster, and a taxpayer's thief be a 'fit and proper' person?????

MCFC and the Premier league have blood on their hands.

I've never wished ill-will on the club before, but i fervently hope they get relegated.

When is a journo going to do their work and expose this dreadful piece of work for what he is?

I read in the bangkok post yesterday about the three thai players who have been 'selected' to go to city for trials to see if they can make the grade.

It won't be long before politics has at least one of them in the first team, for the simple reason that thaksin is still trying to nurture his image back in his home country for the hoped for time when his exile ends.

What will happen if thaksin orders eriksson to put one of them on the team sheet when eriksson knows full well they're no better than the third division level (or whatever it's called these days)?

I doubt much of the money coming into english football from abroad is that clean- the days of the fans that made it (Blackburn & Jack Walker, Newcastle & John Hall) are long gone.

Still, if Abramovich managed it (his oil rival in russia is still jailed remember) I can't see Thaksin coming a cropper.

By this time next year it will all have ended in tears. Thaksin has too much blood on his hands, is living in exile, and has just had one billion quid seized under thai law.

Abramovich is a genial uncle by comparison.

Well you can't fault him for trying. :D :D

Anybody going?

When Citeh beat us for the last time at Maine Rd they had an impromptu parade down Wilmslow Rd,made more of a fuss than when we won the European cup.

So this will be packed.:D :D

Abramovich is a genial uncle by comparison.

Well, as long as his bestest buddy Putin is in power. If that al changes he'll be under arrest pronto and the other guy will be out and gifted the rest of Russia's oil wealth. Not that it's going to happen but...

"A leading human rights group has written to the Premier League to challenge Thaksin Shinawatra's recent purchase of Manchester City."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/6918718.stm

"The civil and human rights charges against him have never been proven," said Noppadol.

"My client deserves to be treated as an innocent man, until proven guilty.

"So far there hasn't been any solid evidence against him."

Not proven, no solid evidence yet. No denials then of the charges against this killer.

As for his client deserving to be treated as innocent until proven guilty, a few thousand thais would have liked that opportunity, but their lives were snuffed out on the orders of this thaksin man.

As for the premier league passing him as a fit and proper person, well at least somebody is challenging this absurd test.

'A Fit and Proper Premiership?'
Five Live Sport, Tuesday 31 July, 2000 to 2100 BST

If anyone listens to this, could they be so good as to post up a summary of what was discussed?

I'd be really interested to see how this goes.

It'll be available live on the BBC Radio Player, and probably for 7 days afterwards.

Ah I see he's calling himself Dr Shinawatra on the city website, mailouts etc.

I'd rather he wasn't there but must admit it's quite exciting seeing who Eriksson has bought every couple of hours...five players in two days including two Brazilians.
City? Brazilians???
Bloody hell.

Geovanni is rubbish though. Universally derided as the worst player in a terrible (bar Rivaldo, Enrique and Guardiola) Barca side that had Winston Bogarde, Michael Reizeger, Fabio Rochemback and Christanaval in it  Yes that bad!

Garrido is a handy player, not spectacualr but he'll do a job and had the potential to become a very good defender.

Martin Petrov is class but he never settled at Atleti and could be a great signing.

They were calling him 'Doctor' Shinawatra on the radio.

His lawyer said "there are so many allegations that it's hard to determine which could be actioned, and therefore none currently stand" or something.

Oh yeah, if you do enough they'll let you off for pure brass

Dr Mengele is the only doctor this criminal could be.

Doctor?!!! He never was called that when in thailand.

Bearing in mind the man ordered the deaths of over 2000 suspected drug users, it will be interesting to see what happens to any city player who might test positive for drug use...

Really?? I think it's a new image thing he's assumed in the past few days as before all MCFC stuff referred to him by his forename.

There's three more new signings to come apparently...after that you can have him back.

We don't want him back. He's an exile and long may that continue. It's the best possible punishment the man can have while he continues to evade the law and the courts.

Dr Shinawattr??? What a wanker.
