Mr Madz just made me a hatstand!

Bet you couldn't do it.

The fact that you can't even see that accurately placed and angled pegs have been inserted into the main stand lead me to believe that you are a philistine when it comes to hatstsnds.
pegs? sure you don't mean branches?

He also makes these. I think we can safely say his woodworking skills can't be called into question by an old harridan such as soj :p

thats lovely

Awwww, take no notice of the meanies, it's a lovely hatstand and a beautiful bench and you must be very proud.

I hope you are going to thank him properly for the hatstand. ;)

He designed these chairs so that they were of a size to be able to go through parcel post  Don't know if they still can

He's quite clever.

For a farmer :D

Of course to an 'untrained' and unappreciative eye this may just look like a branch. However, anyone with even the most basic of woodwork skills can see that this is a finely crafted join of two totally separate pieces of tree

It's a braaaaaanch!!! give over!

*studiously ignores the peasant*

I've been trying to get him to combine our work for about 2 years now. For some reason he never gets off his arse to do it. I have a design in mind that if he made it, I could make cushions and covers for it. I reckon we could sell them for quids - or we could if people weren't shitting themselves about a recession

I do like the various chairs. I'd be worried about breaking them though.

They're not in the least bit fragile. We've got a big one in the kitchen - had it for years with various kids, cats, dogs clambering on it. They're also deceptively comfy - specially with a sheepskin on them
