MP3 players and iPod alternatives

Ah :D
I spent a while looking around for Mac-compatible players which were cheaper than iPods but in the end, I didn't find any decent ones at all.

The sony nano-esque walkman I had was good while it lasted, about 75quid, 16 gig, pretty nice sound, quite cool video/iplayer support, really good headphones bundled with it amazingly (cos they are always shite). Just died one day though.

Same with a cowon iaudio7 I had, the sound on that was fucking (i mean fucking) incredible, but it was a bit fiddly. Battery life was frankly astonishing as well. But it died. Nothing has ever lasted like a traditional HD ipod, (I had a 2nd or 3rd gen one that just kept going forever, like 4 or 5 years, being used constantly and they are supposed to be the flakiest of the lot...

I have got an I-pod Nano and a Touch, but I only use the Nano for the gym as it hasn't got all my very best music on it and I wouldn't go mad if I lost it.
The Touch is ok, but I still haven't worked out how to use the games thingy on it yet.
