Too early to tell, I reckon. But it does seem an odd time to have forced such a change, requiring as it will a whole load of new kit to be developed.
Unless Aprillia are going to release a 600-engined bike, I'm not sure what's in it for them, other than some sponsorship money - and they can get that in WSB, where they do currently have a machine.

They already said they have no interest in taking part when you have to use a spec Honda engine. Be like asking Ferrari to run a Merc engine in F1 because the FIA decided it was the best one. They might be persuade to do a chassis but with no Aprillia branding apparently but I can't see that happening.

Yeah, indeed. So that means we'll probably see better racing in the WSS with varied 600s, than in GP2. Odd...
