Moths!

Orang Utan

Maybe I like the misery
I think my flat might be infested with moths - I keep seeing the odd small moth and I saw a caterpillar on my carpet last week, though it looked bigger than the moths I've seen.
What shall I do to get rid of them?

Okay. Moths.

Go through your wardrobes and see what damage there is. Wash all your natural fibres, and iron everything else - the heat kills the larvae.

Then clean out your wardrobes, and make sure to dust the bottom of the closet - vac it out if you have to. Put your clean clothes back, encase velvets and woollen suits in plastic, and test your wardrobe doors to make sure there are no gaps.

Do the same with all your drawer units. Then vac all the floors and dust everywhere. Put all any clothes that you store into plastic vacbags.

Then go to the shop and get some of those moth repellant things to hang in on your wardrobe rail - you need shit loads of cedar to repel moths properly, and moth balls only work in certain situations.

:D Who do you think I am, some kind of dandy? :)

Thanks for that though!
Looks like a I've got a lot of work ahead - maybe I should throw all my clothes away instead.

Maybe velvets was a bit inappropriate ;)

But moths will sometimes eat fabric that is say, 80% man-made, and 20% natural. So if you have a suit, there maybe some wool in it. A winter coat, as well, may have some natural content, even though it is not wool. Moths can make a meal out of the padding in a jacket if they get in through a blim hole.

Thank fuck my only suit, which is woolen is here at work.
I wore it one day for a bet and couldn't be arsed to take it back again.
