au contraire...hes' dreadful...dunno who the best is mind...

bullshit he's about the only one who talks beyond the obvious shit, okay it's nothing groundbreaking but he atleast notices little runs and movement.

As far as commentating goes, it's the voice that counts. (Though this one is pleasing to the eye.)

I'd rather have a munter with a nice voice and a knowledge of football commentating than a glamour model with the voice of a Silly Milly on the show. Channel 5 famously tried this when they first launched and it flopped. They thought that having a Page 3 girl hosting the show was a good move.

If she's good enough for the job, good luck to her. Looks are merely a bonus that might bring in a bit of extra cash for a couple of appearances in celebrity magazines.

It's a disgrace !! she should have her bottom smacked and be sent to bed long before MOTD starts !!

maybe this is being sexist....but find women with more than a passing interest in football, save maybe during the world cup a little odd anyway....something not quite right if you ask me:)
Why's that then? Premiership audiences in 2001 (latest year figures are available for) were 15% female, on average. At Leicester and Ipswich, more than 1 spectator in 5 was female. source
Are you saying there's something wrong with all of them?

Ron Atkinson. Nobody else notices lollipops or easy-oasys.

i'm still waiting for an explanation too, i dont think he really has one....

No not really...personally I find it very unattractive for women to be well into football....make of it what you will though to be honest couldn't really give a sh*t:)

Kelly Dalglish
:o

I don't see the problem with having female commentators myself, they've got to be better than motson, apparently the daily hate is against it, which can only be a good thing.

Its the gravitas in the voice.

I don't think a female can pull it off and added to the fact that Auntie is so desperate to diversify she was probably pushed to the front on the basis of her sex as opposed to ability

what utter prejudice shite you spout.

I had a great football conversation with a female West Ham fan yesterday. How can someone judge another person as very unattractive because they like something.

Way it is pumpkin...get over yourself:)

Kirsty gallacher, kelly dalgliesh(sky sports news), Helen chamberlin and a few others have been comment on football for time and are all fairly good.

I thought it was a bigger deal that hansen and lineker weren't there rather then oh look a women on motd.Who fucking cares on the sex its if they know anything or if i respect them that counts. Making a big deal out of it just means that a big deal about it is made. Will she improve the programme is the only thing i give a fuck about.

Lineker been signed up by itv for next season?

get over myself?

I'm not the one talking shite on t'internet.

Being from Surrey is bad, supporting Man Utd is very bad, being a complete sexist tool is very very bad. To be unfortunate enough to have all three conditions is very very very bad.

7 years ago when the west indies last toured here, tms had a guest commentator over from one of the islands called donna simmonds. she had an excellent knowledge of cricket, past and present, knew exactly what she was talking about, and had a lovely voice for the radio. it was great to hear a woman's voice in a 'man's job'. i'm amazed she hasn't surfaced somewhere during this world cup.
