most under rated albums of 2007

I didn't follow the various Albums Of The Year threads all that closely, but did Prefuse 73's "Preparations" get mentioned much? That is very good, from someone who is one of the few acts who, to me, sounds genuinely unique.

But isn't the bedwetter stuff - Coldplay, Snow Patrol - really shifting tons at the moment? They're obviously not wet enough...!
:p
That's widescreen bedwetting though.

Stadium soiling, if you will.

would that be another recommendation? :)

Yeah they only did two albums (93/94) but they were both excellent. The first album though is the most awesome album ever made, combining the epic atmosphere of Floyd (without the indulgence) with really kick arse industrial (with a point), with a bit of Joshua Tree-era U2, and a little of the Doors also minus the indulgence. It feels like the soundtrack to the best film never made.

The second album has a very different feel and is merely a very good album. If a more famous band had made it though the critics would have all raved about it...

I've heard good things about these - and about The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart.

I've checked their MP3 samples, and they sound lovely. Checking if there's an European retailer carrying the EP right now...

"The Imagined Village" - Various.

A re-working of British folk songs. I thought it was absolutley superb, especially Billy Braggs' "Hard Times in Old England"

I second Wooden Shjips, they are totally brilliant, and the Le Loup album, oh and the excellent folky singers Marissa Nadler and Alela Diane.
