Most Perfect Pop Single Of All Time

Probably one of those medleys they use to adverstise 70s compilations on sky. or at least they used to.

Nah, i haven't a clue tbh... can't think of any pop single thats had an impact on me, and isn't an embaressing part of my past.

Tainted Love - Soft Cell

This never fails to get people up on the dance floor.

Also, it's neither one thing nor the other. It's neither angsty about a relationship that's over, nor is it all loved up and slushy and pathetic.

It's a song that recognises the push/pull effect of a love affair, how it's so good that it's bad for you. You're conflicted, you're totally subsumed, but it's all so irresistible.

Absolute classic.

in deed, something by the stone roses. good tunes, and i dunno what would have happened to me if i hadn't bought that album. but a bit before my time, really, to count, maybe.

something by blur or pulp? common people. boys and girls. dunno about perfect, but i kinda started caring about chart music after hearing these.

There is no single most perfect pop single IMO - there are many, many contenders, but one of them must be Dexy's Midnight Runners - 'Come On Eileen'.
