They sure do and a good fight :D Though these two teams even had massive ruck aginst each other during WWII, which shows dedication if nothing else.

Perhaps that also but in this instance it is one of the less documented cases whilst the city was under occupation, the Germans banned all Football matches, but they still held them in small grounds on the outskirts of town, and they seemed to have a derby in 1943, about a third of the way down in this link which is from a Wisla supporter, that page is an interesting read in intself.

my only objection is the fabric and cut being so nasty. if they were made of t-shirt cotton, or a heavier jersey, or even more of a twill (like rugby shirts - tho rugby shirts have unfortunate connotations of being a nob), then they'd be fine.

some of the colour combinations are vile, too.

But they are replica shirts - so they are in the same fabric that footballers wear. They wouldn't play a game wearing a cotton shirt or a heavy jersey. I don't know what kind of shirts rugby players wear in games.

The cuts are not great for women, although you can buy specific women's cut ones in some places. Annoyingly though, they usually only go up to a 16.

I love my England shirt - although the material is very thin and weird, it's great for cycling in because it dries amazingly quickly.

Why do you want to wear sponsorship?

The Alex's current sponsors are Mornflake, so I'm promoting healthy eating at the same time as sexy lower-league football. :D

Not that I've actually bought one since we had a dodgy local car dealership. Wear them for playing sports in mostly, though also if I go and watch the local team here Guo'an play.

prem shirts = wank
smaller less known clubs = ok
that's just crap all over. why the distincition? reverse elitism?

i think you are missing the point :D as geri say the point of them is "replica shirts" ideal for playing football in.

personally i dont give a toss if someone is wearing a replica football shirt. ideally they should only be warn if attending games or actually playing football, but really, who gives a shit?

Would I wear a brightly coloured, garish big t-shirt made out of plasticky material and covered by sponsor's logos? And would I pay well over the odds for it to boot?

Not a bleeding chance.

To be fair, the only sports team shirts I ever used to wear casually was the old Neath Rugby top - difficult not to like a classic black top with celtic cross. Pretty much all the rugby shirts have gone the same way since professionalism too - all weirdo plastic fabrics and unnecessary design fripperies to ensure you can change strip every year.

i do understand that bit. but it's like - i love strictly come dancing, but i don't go out on a saturday in a samba frock because it's unflattering and it's made from ugly fabrics. you could wear your team colours and patterns without the shirt having to be a replica, no?

edit - btw, i was talking about men wearing them, mostly.

i think the cut probably suits women more than a regular t shirt does, since they sometimes have v necks or collars. regular t shirts with high, round necks are horribly boob unfriendly.

wrong! the cut makes you look like a big block of nothing :D especially if you have an copious amount of boobage. (plus supporting a team whose strip is horizontal stripes does not help  ) and the 'ladies cut ones' are just naff

I like to wear my favourite Gary McAllister Liverpool shirt in bed.

I'm never quite sure if this makes the boys :) or

Guess it depends on who they support, eh? :D

I shall be wearing my black Ipswich shirt today...and I will feel very proud to be associated with it and football.

Well, you can, yes - most teams have a range of casual clothing as well, in different fabrics and with a more discreet logo. Butchers wouldn't wear a replica shirt, but he does have tops with England logos on.

Most people do prefer the replica ones though, for whatever reason.

Not worn a football shirt to football since I was about 12 and certainly wouldn't wear one to the pub.

I have a few that I wear to play sport in though, mainly ones I've picked up on holiday for cheap. Got a great Swindon one off ebay a few years back that didn't have a sponsor on it.

In conclusion, they are for playing sport in, otherwise you look like a bit of a twat. And probably a sweaty twat at that.

I don't think its a simple as 'people that wear them are twats' but I hate them.
An assault on my eyes.

But I do have some Bench jeans so....

Do not wear them, if the club sponsors want me to walk around advertising their products, they can pay me. I do not see why I should shell out £35 odd pounds for the pleasure of advertising Sports Interactive.

i've just remembered i've got a dead nice Brasil t-shirt that i wear with jeans..

:D

yep, i am a twat.

i have no opinion on this matter.

although i'm sure some twerp will come along in a minute and (incorrectly) say something like "ah - but you posted on the thread, so you do care" with an obvious hint of smugness in their typing.

anyway - i'm gonna go and get a footie top at the weekend. can't decide on west ham or millwall, though.
