Most Mediocre British Sportsperson Ever

Just thinking about the title of this thread. You can be the best or the worst at something, but how can you be the most mediocre?

Oh. And Alex Bogdanovic (Sp.?). A stand out mediocrity in the sea of mediocrity that is British tennis. Why does anybody waste money in training him? Why doesn't he get a proper job? Why does he bother to enter competitions?

David Coulthard

It grates me everytime the ITV sports lot talk him up as 'DC' the man who can, but never has luck on his side. No, he's just mediocre - thats all chaps.

He's made a serious wodge of cash from his long stint at the helm of motor racing mediocrity, mind. And managed to have some extremely attractive partners in spite of his weird gerbil cheeks.

Look! Mediocre, gerbil-cheeked lothario, David 'DC' Coulthard

what about nasseem hamed? loads of skill, courage, and a natural showman until he fought someone who could actually hit him back, then he shit himself and never got back in the ring

Johnny Herbert, Audley Harrison, Phil Neville, Carlton Palmer.

Question is an odd one so gone for the people who were considered to be good enough to represent Britain or England in some shape or form but were essentially mediocre...

I cannot believe that sports persons like Daley Thompson - 2 Olympic Golds, Torvill and Dean - Gold at Sarajevo 1984 and Will Carling - England captain 3 grand slams are being called mediocre. When we could have such mediocre non-entities as Phil Tuffnell (nice, really lovely guy but not a test cricketer), Kenny Samson and Mark Hately..

Aye, even the much-lambasted Ornery Harrison has an olympic gold.

And agreed, Will Carling was a fucking good rugby player and (said through gritted, Taffy teeth).
