Tony Adams in 'real life' is a cripplingly shy man, who seems quite troubled. He's very quiet- so different to on the pitch. Personally I don't think he's a cunt at all, he might've done some nasty and stupid stuff, but incomparable to a wholeheartedly unpleasant man like sir alex.

He is a cunt simple as . He may have been ok as a player and a nice enough person but as a manager he is an utter twat who can't hack it and quits when things go bad !

Richard Scudamore: The single most STUPID/HATED man in English football.
I mean surely this is another example of the problems that arise when you have footballing authoprity run by people who have absolutly no experience in proffessional football?

Being weak or finding that you can't hack a job you have taken on because you're not as resilient as you thought you were doesn't make you a cunt - to be a cunt requires intent.

And what about Fabio Canavaro, great drug supplier and best move the blow of elbow in the coasts...
But i vote for the russian guy, i hate all those mafiosi and other private funds of investment that kill the game for money :(

No - it's what happens when football is run by business people - I could do a great job as head of stuff at the FA and I don't have any professional experience. I do, however, value the game from the perspective of a supporter whereas Scudamore values it from neither mine, nor the proffesionals

The Premier League didn't create the top 4 - Champions League income did that exclusively.

All Premier League clubs are rich by the standards of any other league but without CL money it would still be roughly the same kind or level-ish playing field it mostly always was because the relativity (in size of crowd and income and other revenues) has not changed - though stadium sizes has distorted that more in the past 2-3 seasons.

Whilst I concur that the "Champions" League is a major problem, I can't agree with it being the exclusive cause. On a domestic level, the top tier resigned from the league in 1992 for the chief reason that they felt they weren't seeing enough of the potential TV income. The Premier League thus formed and in stepped Murdoch, driving up the price exponentially for everything in football in real terms. A key component in the maintainance of the "top 4" is the financial rewards structure of the Sky TV pay deal (it may be the same for Setanta, I'm not sure), whereby the amount of money clubs receive isn't split equally 20 ways but with more money going to those clubs who will guarantee higher viewing figures, namely the top 4. I always equate it with the richest in society paying belonging to the lowest income tax band with the rate increasing the less you earn (not allowing for offshore arseholes).

The downward slope began when home clubs started keeping all the gate money in about 1983. The writing was on the wall for the small and medium sized clubs from then on.
