Morrissey's 50th Birthday Party - want to come?

Magic Sam tried to get tickets for us but the standing tickets were gone by the time he'd put the card details in (because he's a bit slow bless him). I didn't want seated or gallery so no moz for me unless he announces more london dates. :(

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm now worried that he'll be poorly again by the time the 11th may comes around.

Ooh, salisbury. That would be fab as it's not too big. Thanks Tanky, you've made my day.

i would be very careful about using see tickets if i was you. we bought tickets for nick cave and for the residents from them and their service was, frankly, shit.

we ordered nick cave tickets 3 months in advance, yet they only came 3 days before the gig and were rubbish, stuck right up the back, when a friend who bought his a few days before the gig was able to get a much better seat.

we did get the residents tickets, then See asked us to send them back for uncertain reasons (you need to call an 0871 number to speak to a clueless operator, costing £££s). we had to pay for registered post (on top of £5 booking fees) and these tickets were only sent back 2 days before the gig, which meant me having to pick them up from the sorting office on saturday morning.

Yay, looks like magic sam will be late for work. ;)

I hope we do get salisbury tickets, it will be really handy. No travel costs, we can get trolleyed and stay at my mates in fordingbridge. Might even splash out on a B&B if I ever get my payrise. By the time we get it they'll probably owe me a years worth.

I'm so fucking excited. Surely Salisbury won't sell out as quick.

I've used See loads and never had a problem. The only time there was an issue was when I bought Scissor Sisters tickets off Ebay (just above cost price and we were desperate). See refused to send them to the buyer (knew he was selling them on) so he had to drive down from Leamington Spa to collect them and give them to me. I even made him refund my postage.
It cost him a fortune once he'd paid petrol. :D

I only linked to see, because ticketmaster hasn't got them listed yet.

a few people on the morrissey forum have had problems with see this time round. getting confirmation emails and then a few days later having them cancelled  :(

Really, that's rubbish. Maybe I'll try ticketmaster then.

Only just caught up with this ...

the tour now has these dates added.

That's the full UK tour now isn't it Tanks?

I don't think Morrissey likes the Welsh, there's neither Cardiff nor even Bristol :(

And the Academy gig clashes with something else for us I'm nearly sure ...

Any chance of him getting to Glastonbury do you reckon? He hasn't been since 2004 ... <hopeful>

I've always used See with no probs at all:confused:

if you're not registered on ticketmaster already, I would recommend you do, you'll save time and hopefully get tickets. I've read a lot of reports where people had got there in time to bag tickets, but by the time they'd filled out their info and card, the tickets had been sold on. ticketmaster only hold your ticket for 2 minutes, and a lot of people said it took about 5 minutes to do the reg. also remember you might have shaky hands :D

You too.

We've registered with Ticketmaster but they aren't showing the Salisbury date so we might have to stick with See after all.

it's not unusual for ticketmaster not to have all dates listed until the evening before or even the morning the tickets go on sale.

Wooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. :D

Tickets reserved thanks in part to Orange but mostly to the lovely Tanky who tipped me off.

<does starjump> :D :p

got ours reserved too :D

so that's the albert hall before his birthday and then brixton academy after his birthday.

he's playing in mile end, too, but that's far too far to travel from dulwich ;)

well i just got our tickets for brixton, but it was a bit of a kerfuffle. had the tickets reserved via orange, then went to buy them through the orange website and it kept coming up with a message "sorry, we cannot process your order for some reason, please phone see tickets" - so i did, and managed to book them okay, and have got an e-mail confirmation. yay!

i hate buying tickets, always stresses me out :hmm: :D

The same happened here and I was a bit panicked. The girl on the phone was lovely. I told her my stupid email address and she was laughing so much she couldn't wrap up the call properly. :D

i think seetickets website was down for a while, hence why it wouldn't work through the orange site. What. A. Kerfuffle.

still - job's a good 'un.
