Morrissey collapses on stage

Here's Youtube footage of the moment the bottle stuck:

I dunno. I think he should have carried on, but then he did collapse just the other week and reports of the Ally Pally show were that he was visibly unwell and just struggling through it. So if he's already feeling crappy and then he's hit by a water bottle, I can see why he'd think "Fuck this..."

He's a prima donna to be sure, but I can kind of see why he might have decided to knock it on the head that night.

I like the comments on the YouTube page.

To be fair the only correct thing to do at the time is to carry on the gig imo .. no ifs nor buts about that !

great pic that

The problem with Morrissey these days is that it is rock and roll. He'd be much better if he ditched such a quaint, outmoded concept. I'd rather see him at a sit down Albert Hall, with the Royal Philarmonic. No dancing.

I really wish he'd do something like this too. I really like the last album as it happens, and slightly to my own suprise, it has stayed with me through the year. but I agree it's time to drop the stodgy guitar business, there are a few tunes littered in his back catalogue where he's accompanied by just piano and I think that would make a great album. The idea of him re-recording 'Let Me Kiss you' with a proper orchestra and a massive glorious ending instead of fake strings is something I'd love to hear as well. come on Moz, age a bit more gracefully you silly old man.

I was thinking of his recordings more than in performance, there's a hysteria about Morrissey live that might not work so well in a sit down type thing

By the last album, do you mean "Ringerleader..."? I thought he'd really cracked it with that - all the strings and orchestration just seemed to suit him. So when he went back to the stodgy guitar stuff, it was a bit confusing. I think a show like this would be spectacular.
