More Democracy Now!

I like the idea of checks and balances on the Democratic system...I think that there is something to be said for first past the post MP system....But its also unfair to smaller parties...
And a 2nd chamber could address this to an extent...Giving parties like the Greens,RESPECT and the BNP a voice.

but if the "first chamber" is elected democratically, then there shouldn't need to be a second chamber surely? Because that first chamber represents our interests.
