More and more programmes not being eligible for Sky+ing

It is a HD box, we got it about 3 months ago, although its matt black, not shiney. I bemoaned this at the time, I bet the shiney ones behave better too.

We've had "failed" a few times, but this is something else. To all intents and purposes, it looks like the programme HAS recorded as normal. It's down in the menu as "recorded."

When you press play you get the blue screen giving you all the info about the recording, all as normal.

Its only when you press play again to start playback that bugger all happens. Everything freezes and it stays on that blue screen with all the recording information.

Backup wont work in these circumstances, and neither does the "I" button. The only way to make it unfreeze is to press SKY and go back to TV.

Get thee on to Sky lady. You are paying for it. Get a new box.

If they um and ah, tell them in that case you wish to cancel.

They will be round quicker than Christmas with a new box.

I cant even joke about that! Its not longer an option! I cant go back to regular sky, let alone regular TV. I love rewinding tv if Ive missed something! And the ability to pause tv when some ignorant fecker decides their opinion is more important than what Ugly Betty is saying.

Im spoilled now!

:D :D :D

How the fuck did we manage all those years with four channels?

Wogan is on in a minute Steve, came the call from my Mum up the stairs.

FOUR - fucking hell I'm that old I can (just) rememeber my old man coming home in 1956 with this plywood box (yes plywood varnished) - it had a rotary two position plastic knob on the side and an aerial socket and a legth of aerial wire out the other end. The night ITV started we had this thing wired ready and switched the rotary switch over - fucking unbelievable, a second TV channel and it had adverts !

Now I sit there with 100+ channels and some nights me and the other half can't find anything worth watching ................. some nights we even have to talk to each other !

It's funny how, despite the fifty year gap, your post has the same meaning as today. :(

e2a, don't talk. Really it doesn't work. It always ends up with you going to the tool shed to fix something.

I've got the digifusion one. Its brilliant (and sounds a lot less flaky than sky+).

Freeview isn't exactly packed with channels, but at least I know that my money isn't going to that cunt Murdoch every month.
