NOT vitamin deficiency. NOT poverty. Starvation. That is what he said--like it or not. And that is a *lie.* There is no evidence whatsoever to support it. More than likely Nick1181 simply made the figure up, or just found it in the "Bumper Book of Lies" or "Boy's Own Bullshit" or "10,000 False Statistcs To Make You Look Cool on the Internet." I wish I knew what possessed such people to go around making such demonstrably erroneous claims. Unless perhaps he is following "someone's" agenda--as usual?

Apart from that, back on to the OP, I see Bush and his gang of nutters have decided that senators and congressmen that vote against the bill to give US green light to re write the geneva convention regarding torture are un-american and will cause the deaths of more Americans on home soil due to allowing terroist attacks.

When people die in a famine, that's undernutrition, or starving to death.

Malnutrition can include various things, including deaths from anorexia.

Not necessarily. Like I said in the post above, anorexia deaths would be included in those figures, and that disease has nothing to do with poverty.

I quick glance at google would suggest that US deaths from anorexia are about 60 per year.

So it seems that you have deliberately miseld us once again, in your futile attempt to protect your own reputation. The second mentions 120 deaths--a far cry from the 3,000 that you assert. In short, there is not a *shred* of evidence to support your claim. For the very good reason that this claim is a *lie.* Which makes you a liar. And a twat.

Whatever the case, it is clear that the US state spends less on alleviating the effects of poverty and more on 'defence'. In other words, it would rather destroy life than save it.
