Duffel coats are for geography teachers.
Ok, apols.
At least he wan't selling guns or child porn. (the wrong thread for either, obvs)

I got one for Christmas, but have never taught geography in my life. I'm very pleased with it; it's warm, and I think I cut quite a dash.Duffel coats are for geography teachers.
I have shrunk plenty of wool things over the years, never a coat though. I wouldn't wash a wool coat because you can't get a good finish on it afterwards.I would say wot? What is the point of a coat that needs dry cleaned?? This suggests to me it would not be suitable for wet weather. I live on the NE coast so it'd be a waste of time for meLondon seems to get it's fair share of wetness too, just saying.
Though I don't understand why they always say dry clean only on wool. How many shrunken sheep do you see??![]()

I bought a blue Harbour duffel coat at Xmas , good bit of retro imo.
How can brand spawned by a post-2000 restructuring be considered any sort of retro?
That is exactly what retro is about
I wish I could stop looking at this thread, I DO NOT NEED A DUFFEL COAT
but I want one
Gem, I would love it if it's a Montgomery, size 10, red, navy blue or greenI will have a rummage for you, there may be one in a cupboard somewhere. If there is you are welcome to it but postage would be appreciated. Do you skype? You could see it that way and decide if you want it(if it's still there)
not fussy or out. Don't mind if it's a bit worn
So its modern then?

No it's ok but thank you. I don't need one, I just saw some photos of nice coloured ones and started lustingIt's none of them. I think I bought it in Woolies about 30 yrs ago and I'm pretty sure it's black. Shall I bother to look or not?
