Barry = braw, ken, eh.Confused.Is this some strange east coast lingo?
Yes, it's not bad or anything but it is a little by the numbers. With the Les Revenants soundtrack they seemed to be going into a new direction, but since then they have stalled a bit IMO.Well, I got the new album on Friday and listened over the weekend.
It's erm Mogwai. I mean by that it has all of the component parts of a Mogwai album - bangers, slow melancholic windswept brooders, one with vocals, shades of light and dark etc etc but it left me cold.
I don't know if the formula is one of diminishing returns and they need a radical reboot or if I am just Moggers jaded.

I've just been at a live recording for BBC Scotland in a wee studio with an audience of maybe 50 people with Mogwai RIGHT THERE in our faces playing an absolute blinder for like an hour. For free. Thanks to the other half's lightning email reply trigger finger. Possibly the best gig I've ever seen in my life. This is Barry Burns's pedal collection
