Modern technology: Useless inventions for idiots

I use my laptop a lot, yet strangely I have no problems.
Perhaps you don't use it enough for it to matter, or perhaps you are preternaturally healthy, or perhaps you have no actual joints and are in fact some sort of mollusc. I'm not sure. In general, though, "laptop neck" is pretty common amongst heavy laptop users; well, it's the upper back really to be honest, and shoulders.
Because you might as well get a normal tower that is better specced for the price, easier to upgrade etc.

If you don't have space? If you move the machine around a lot? I've been in both those positions quite recently. Or, for that matter, if you just prefer not to waste what space you do have with a big tower? You might not be in any of those positions but people are.

It's certainly something that's come up amongst laptop users in our Health & Safety assessments at work. Everyone now has a laptop riser (to put the screen at the right level) and an external keyboard and mouse for working long periods at a desk.
