Modelling

Well your photos on Urban are very photogenic doesn't hurt to give it a try, other than you may have to wait a while to get your benefits back if it doesn't work out.

I'm not allowed to post on this thread because I'm her Mum and I'm embarrassing.

I've always thought she was beautiful.

I bet she gets it from you. :)

Enid, what have you got to lose? Perhaps a little hassle filling in forms or talking to the DWP but I think you'd regret it if you didn't give it a go. :)

Nah, we are totally unalike moomoo. I look just like my Mum, short & round. I've never been a looker. Usually described as witty or bright, but never had my looks commented on favourably. Her dad wasn't a looker either. She's witty, bright and gorgeous....what a combo!

Moomoo has it right, you don't want to get 20 or 30 years down the road sat there wondering if it might have worked for you...

ooops, I forgot...not supposed to be posting on this thread because I'll embarrass her...I just can't break the habit of a lifetime.....

Something to consider, and discuss with dwp, is that it might take a while for any money to come through after you've done a shoot.

Might be worth discussing payment terms with the agency, as some only pay when the client/ad agency pays. Which can be up to 60 days and longer for repeat fees.

PM me the name of your adoption agency please? :p ;)

Absolutely! You'll kick yourself if you don't at least explore the options.

By the way, re your OP - it's not vain or self-indulgent - you have been scouted after all, it's not like you think you're God's gift & have been showering agencies with your photo! Nothing wrong with posting a modest thread asking for advice.....

Awww! :)

Was she a proper chompy chops as a baby as well? :D

She looked like a Belsen victim for a start due to feeding issues. She had pinched cheeks and was extremely skinny.

It was a shame, she really was not a pretty baby till she was getting on for a year old. :(

She's a stunner now though. I think they must have given me the wrong baby. :hmm:

Quite, it's a job no more no less. The only real difference between that and most other jobs is you can be spotted as being suitable.

IF it were another job, say "I see you have long fingers, a short neck and a head concaved like an in-tray, you'd make an excellent typist.", would that worry you on the vanity angle?

I would at least see about it, as long as they're not asking you for any money or err doing anything you don't feel comfortable about.

I met a girl who was a modelling talent scout a while back. She reported she loved it because she was really changing the girl's lives for the better and they loved her for it - despite the reputation of the industry

Sorry for the derail, but did she really have pinched cheeks? I was taught that even starving third world babies kept their chubby baby cheeks.

I'll try and find a photo of how she looked around that time. Obviously, there isn't one in her baby album but there are probably some in a box somewhere. :)

If I can sort one, I'll photo it and let you see it. She was by no means chubby cheeked. :(

I think the chubby cheeks are when they were OK, then famine comes. If there are feeding problems from the word go, then they could look thin faced.
