Right I'm due for my annual upgrade, and I have a dilemma. I can get that Ericsson everyone's talking about the with 2 megapixel camera (better than my camera) and MP3 player (which I don't have), but looks like this:

Or I can get the Motorola which has shitty features the same as my current phone, but looks like this

I know I should get the Ericsson, but the black one is just so pretty, and it had the cool ad with the house folding up into it and everything :o :o

Anyone own either of them? Any comments/suggestions? What should I do? I can never make my mind up about stuff like this - stupid excessive consumer choice dammit

A couple of months down the line the motorola one won't look cool any more, then I'd just be left with a shit phone... ... but it's so pretty!

Please decide for me suburbanites

Motorolas are utterly rubbish - the ericsson may not be pretty but it probably won't break the moment you use it. And it has cool features!

I know two people who have the Motorolla, based on their experiences I would never get one. Also i've got the k700 and the k750 looks like a nice upgrade to me.;)

buy the Motorola then you and countless other style obsessed monkeys can all have crappy signal, annoying ringtones which sound like the techno hippy you really are can have you calls end suddenly unexpectdlyand sometimes with a loud squreaching sound, can sit on it a break the screen, loose the functionality in the key's have Motorola take no responsiblity for it and have your phone company refuse to replace it, dial out only to get it fail even thought your on contract and the bill is paid ... find it locks up and bars callers for no particular reason

our it dept has replaced all of our ones which we got for senior managment with erricsons... for just some if not all of the reasons above...

Hell'o crap'o more like....

Motorola have yet to make a decent phone imo inc the startac....

I have a V3 RAZR, it is very slow (if you can't text faster than it can keep up you are very slow), collects grit in its hinge, crashes every so often (during which time it appears to be operating normally but rejects phone calls silently  ), it does weird things when you are trying to store numbers that you didn't enter in the "way" you enter phone numbers. It is however very pretty and for the first few months turned a lot of heads (if that is your sort of thing) at least for the first few months but now everybody has one  :o It also has, as previously commented upon, very few features.

Therefore my next phone is going to be even more useless than Nokia 7280 which is even more useless and features NO keypad but a roundy roundy wheel thing which is even more difficult to text on let alone enter people names for the phone book than even the crap LG texting interface and has a sliding thing so fragile they give you two which isn't enough to get you half way to the first upgrade.

Get the Sony Ericsson. I've got a K700i, apart form the notoriously crap battery life its a brilliant phone. The K750i is even better, the camera is the best on any phone.

The Motorola V3 is not a bad phone as such but it really is a triumph of style over. The best Moto phone I've come across is the V600.

The best phone however is the Orange SPV C500. Switch to Orange and get that.

Do you have bluetooth on alot because that saps battery no end. I've got the k700 and the battery aint been that much of a problem. Infact if the camera was better I wouldn't really be looking for a new phone...

Hmmm well I was thinking the Ericsson until I saw this:

But yeah I reckon you've convinced me. Thank you all - it does look pretty cool up close too so yeah. Now I just feel bad about my "dilemma" typo in the thread title :o

I got the K700i whe it first came out a year ago. The firmware on the older models was fucked and it caused depletion of the battery very quickly. I cant be bothered to get it upgraded. Newer models have got updated firmware. Its still a brilliant phone though, the C500 is the only one on the market in that price range thats better.

No it's not. The interface is sooooooo slow! I miss my nokia 6100!

It's great being able to play music, movies and games on it, but otherwise, it's not spectacular. Everything feels unresponsive. Maybe the SPV C550 is better though.

I know it's not on the poll, but Nokia's phones with Symbian (eg. 6600) get my vote. Had one on Vodafone for a year or so now and never had a problem with it. Motorolas are utter crapola.

The Motorola Razor... Everyone who sees one wants one. And then once they get them they bitch about the crap software and random crashes. Everyone I know who's got one is trying to get rid of it now.

Avoid!

that would make sense to be fair. Didn't threads that have been moved used to tell you they had been moved though?

in fact yeah yor right the last line of picks post says suburbanites. good work.
