mixtape soundclash

killer b

That vase.
anyone fancy this?

rules:

* Your mix should be no more than 45 minutes in length - any style or method of mixing is acceptable.
* The mix should be in MP3 format, and hosted somewhere where it won't run out after a certain amount of time of downloads (loads of options here - either the one i've linked to up there, or podomatic.com or the like)
* The closing date is 31st August 2008
* DO NOT post mixes in this thread - instead, PM me with a link, a short description and a tracklisting
* Make sure you cannot be identified by the file name, the hosting site or the description, as all of these will be viewable by the voting public.
* After the deadline, I'll post another thread, with links to all the mixes and their descriptions, and a poll. If the response is high, we'll go to heats, but we'll cross that when/if we get to it.
* Once the votes are in, i'll post the tracklistings and names of the creators.
* The winner gets no prize, just a nice warm feeling

what d'you reckon? :)

best be, or it could end up a popularity contest.

i suspect we might be able to guess who's done what in some cases anyway...

-Is the traditional compilation CD a dead 'un?

I sent a mix to a mate last week as one continuous 70+ minute mp3, which was somewhat of a break from our traditional format. Upon receiving it, he phoned me up and complained!:D

After much arm-twisting, I've now agreed to send him a follow up CD with all the individual tracks on...:D

how do i do a mix from an audio numark mixer to an mp3 then?

(sorry, complete luddite about all this)
download audacity then plug your mixer into the phono input of your computer. then press record. :)

you need to download a plugin to convert the audacity file to an mp3, but it's easy enough - just follow the instructions on the sourceforge page.

cheers, will give it a go in next couple of days (download that is). so closing date of end of august sounds realistic :)

eta:fooking hell, just been looking at instructions for loading audacity to vista and its scary  am deffo waiting til i'm a bit more on the ball. come to think of it, this is a laptop and doesn't have a phono input does it?

I didn't know about this plugin!

I only recently had to start using audacity for vinyl --> digital, and have been exporting audacity files as wavs, then converting them to mp3s using CDex... :o

(-Probably count me in for this mix thing too, btw. :))

coolio. I've had thoughts about the rules, which are now as follows, unless anyone objects:
