Mistabishi 'Drop'

I bought the album before I'd even finished listening to printer jam. can't remember the last time something so immediate hit me. proper love it.

i'm enormously skeptical of d'n'b albums but this sounds pretty consistently good, result ! it's the right side of mashed'n'broken and has an original sound with dubstep tunes too. He's playing in June i think at that godawful Hidden place.

Loving this album, Hospital cant go wrong at the moment.

However, dont waste your hard earned on going to see him DJ, shockingly bad, im afraid to say.

I imagine so. He's an office worker turned bedroom producer geek, not a DJ :)

I take it it's not just a cooindcidence that this guy's name is somewhat similar to a poster that used to frequent these and UK420 boards then?

Fair play to him as a producer, no doubting that, and the only way he's going to promote the album is by djing, just a shame that he's not very good :)
ETA: Not the only way to promote, obviously, but the way Hospital are going with it.....

They must have an inkling of his lack of skills, he's noticeably absent (well, to me anyway) from the last Hosptaility @ Matter and the next one - all as his album has just "dropped"...

Just listened to this.

Hmmmmm.

When it's good, it's great ("Printer Jam" is genius, and the last track is lovely), but a lot of it* is a bit dull.

I dunno, I was expecting to be blown away coz of the way everyone here is talking about it, but it's not exactly new or ground breaking stuff is it? Most of it could have been released any time in the last five years...

Maybe another listen is in order tomorrow.

*The dubstep style bits mainly

Funny you should say.
Tony Coleman (London Elektricity, head honcho for Hospital) had to make an apology as it came out that Mistabishi was using pre-timed cdr's or something in his dj sets. Coleman is very much a vinyl man, and to have this come out was obviously a bit of an embarresment, to say the least. Mista's certainly not getting any love from the Hospitality Brighton camp, thats for sure........

On a side note, anyone checked out Danny Byrd's album?

I like the old school piano's on No Matter What the best :)

Me too. And I normally have no time for old school pianos. I normally have no time for hospital records either so the fact that I'm still listening to this album pretty solidly is quite an achievement.
