  1. Lurdan

    Lurdan old wave

The Clerks - 'No Good For Me'

On one of those two-bands-on-a-single singles on Rok. I've seen this claimed by Mod revivalists (the track by Hazard on the other side is) but it sounds more Buzzcocks inspired to me.

The world has a lot to thank Small Wonder for.

Bristol Vice Squad? Saw them. Beki Bondage? Avon Calling LP anyone?

Wow, haven't heard John's name mentioned for a while. Nice one.

First punk single I bought. 1976. I had around three t chests of original and obscure punk singles that I hauled around with me, then in 1985 I did a runner to an even greater salubrios life and left them all behind in an loft in Crayford....

Leeds band had a decent following. Got one of the first pressings of this in my 'box of treasures'!

Five 6th formers from Mexborough Grammar School, supported The Adverts.

Trio from Mexborough, popular in 77-78, first recorded in 79.

    This, like my previous post:
    - sounds like it was recorded in 1979 but was actually recorded in the last 10 years
    - features a past/present poster of these boards (not me this one)
    - is an absolutely storming tune

  12. sunnysidedown

    rutabowa YUPPIES OUT

That is one of the most perfect punk songs ever done imo. Rereleased a few years ago by Last Laugh, who are doing top quality reissues (from tape, not bootlegs) of many of these obscure punk singles where originals are megabucks. Eg:

  16. sunnysidedown

    sunnysidedown caput mortuum

here's me thinking that was the Exploited. sounds like Here & Now got there first!

I haven't got the LP, but Vice Squad are still going with Beki aren't they? We've certainly seen them live within the last two or three years.
