Mini Cheddars

thats one thing about Urban, it often send me off down the shop to buy foodstuffs I haven't had in years.

I want some mini cheddars now!

(i may just settle for some toast with lemon and coriander houmous - its breakfast time after all...)

I love mini cheddars and they are a vice - especially as they're not strictly vegetarian!

(the branston pickle flavour is LUSH!)

Arg :( i wish I didn't know that :(

Usually that stops me in my tracks... but I have a weakness for those pesky cheddars that somehow stops my brain from thinking about what's in them... :(

*bad vegetarian* <slaps self>

yeah, me too. but I was in Sainers the other day and thought I'd treat myself to some nice cheese, but as they're so good at labelling all their veggie cheeses I discovered I couldn't have any of the ones I wanted. So instead, I bought some non-sainsburys cheese (with no way to tell if it was or wasn't) and carried on in blissful ingorance :o

its gonna be hard to resist those round discs of joy next time I'm in the pub though! (they sell them in my local goddam them)

I *heart* mini cheddars. For a while they stocked them in the vending machine in my office and that made me very happy. Now we just have bollocks like lamb flavoured crisps and the such like. Mmmm. I want mini cheddars, might have to pop to sainsbury's at lunch...

I didn't know about the non-vegetarian status of them though. Should we petition them do you think??

It's hardly worth it. I have a friend who is very very strict and she regularly bangs off letters to these places (you'd be amazed at what isn't veggie.... things like those miniature heroes, loads of ice-creams and chocolate bars etc - until recently Walkers meaty crisps were veggie but their cheese and onions wasn't) etc etc...

Generally they ignore her letters or write back some trite bollocks reply about consumer tests or something.. :(

That's so stupid. You'd think they'd listen to their customers!! I'm always shocked at what is and isn't veggie - meat flavoured crisps are, and seemingly meat-free stuff isn't.... Really bizarre! What's even weirder is when people offer you a crisp, and you say "no, it's chicken flavour", and they say they're veggie - but I don't like meat! I don't like the flavour, why would I want to eat fake meat flavoured stuff?? Grrrrr!!

According to their website these are the only vegetarian ones:

With cheese flavourings it's usually to do with the rennet and with chocolate it's often that non-vegetarian whey has been used.

bloody hell - the bacon flavoured ones are veggie but the cheese ones aren't? The world is a damned mysterious place.

However I couldn't resist and I bought a pack of original mini cheddars at lunch time. They were gooooooooooooood!!

I had a bag of mini cheddars today -- I love them! I've got a family pack stashed away in my cupboard at home...

Look....

There's no such animal as a bloody mini-cheddar. :p

Stop bloody moaning and getting a worried about the miniscule bit of rennet there might be on a mini-cheddar and get on with scoffing them.

Your tongue and tummy will forgive you any wrong doing.

I love the mini cheddars but due to their non vegetarian-ness can't have them. I have eaten them previously, but they changed their recipe about 5 years ago to be non veggie :(

My shock of the day was finding out that lilt and fanta orange contain fish! (source - animal free shopper).

My mid-afternoon snack has been a minature apple pie.
