- United's record in the Champions League is down to that famous football intangible: 'nerves'.
- Winning the European Cup without winning the league is a hollow victory that indicates a glorified cup team.
- Celebrating a draw against Spurs is reasonable, celebrating being the first team from England to win against AC Milan at San Siro is not.
