Tell that to Alex Ferguson. The only reason he didn't retire 7 years ago as he had first announced and keeps putting his retirement on hold is because he is obsessed with the CL and wants to win at least one more. Indeed, he said not long ago he believes the mark of a truly great team is the number of European Cups that sit on its trophy room, and as such Man United lags behind teams such as Real Madrid and AC Milan (and Liverpool FC of course, though I don't remember him mentioning that club by name).

No the point is you have to win your league then the european cup, the european cup is a tough one to crack and be challenging for the league in the same year.

For what it's worth United have underperformed in Europe for years, seems to be too much nerves about it. Fergie definately wants the CL again before he goes but he won't do it at the expense of the league, unlike Binlid.
