It's based on an ad for copier toner originally made for Japan, by a Japanese agency. It's also been copied (ha!) for a paper company who advertise only in Asia.

I'm sure Mikado have been around in the UK for years? I remember seeing them in the supermarket when I was a kid...am I fake-remembering things?

A similar thing happened with Oreos, they've been around in the UK for about 10 years, and only last year they became popular with the ads and everything.

Personally, I think Pocky and Mikado are the same maybe it's because the name "Mikado" is more recognisable in the UK?

Mikado for ultimate win. So much better than Pocky.

My sis brought me back some of the strawberry yogurt pocky from japan and they were lush.
I do like the chocolate mikado too.
I font have a tv so have not seen the ad.
